The IRS will begin processing most individual income tax returns on Jan. 30 after updating forms and completing programming and testing of its processing systems. What to Do if You Can’t Confirm that Your Employer Sent Your W-2 Already

If you did not receive a W-2 Wage and Tax Statement and you have earned income that is required to be reported on these forms, you can still begin your tax return and pick up from where you left off after you receive your forms. You are not eligible to submit your tax return to the IRS using eSmart Tax until you receive these forms.
