I Forgot To Include Something on A Return I Just Submitted. Can I Update My Return While eSmart Tax Says It Is “Submitted?”

We’re all human.  Making mistakes is common and even though efiling your return significantly reduces the risk of making mistakes on your taxes, something may still happen.  Perhaps you got a form in the mail today that needs to be documented on your return.  Maybe you just noticed that an amount from a W-2 got typo-ed.  What can you do if you just submitted your return and eSmart Tax says it’s “submitted”?

I’ve Just Hit The Submit Button. How do I Check the Status of My Return?

eSmart Tax automatically monitors your return status.  You will receive an e-mail confirmation once your return has been sent to the IRS. Once it has been accepted by the IRS, we will send a notification to the email address that you entered when preparing your income tax return. Alternatively, you can check your efile status by signing into your account.  The status of your return will be listed on the “My Account” page.
