Browser Compatibility

For PCs, Internet Explorer 7 and 8 are the preferred browsers for eSmart Tax. We do not currently support IE6. If you are unsure of which version of IE you are running, click Help in the top toolbar then About Internet Explorer. We also support: AOL version 5.0 or higher and Firefox 3.0 or higher. Due to recent updates to Chrome, Chrome is currently not fully supported.

Please note that cookies must be allowed and JavaScript must be enabled.

If you are running an older version of Internet Explorer, upgrade to Internet Explorer 8.

For Macintosh, we support Macintosh OSX or higher, Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher, and Safari 4.0 or higher.

Please note: If your return is rejected due to discrepancies with the IRS database pertaining to your birthday, name, SSN or AGI/PIN, you will need to contact the IRS directly--not eSmart--to verify that information. eSmart does not have access to electronic signature details, which is managed by the IRS. In such cases, please call 1-800-829-1040.
