State OH Amount Owe Payment Option
You have the following options to pay your tax:
  • Pay by Direct Debit from bank account. You need to make sure your bank supports direct debit.
    OH supports both Direct Debit and Deposit

  • Mail in a check.
    You need to attach Payment Voucher (Form IT 40P)

    Please write your social security number and the tax year on the check or money order.
  • Send e-payment through state website.
  • Send credit card payment through third-party website.
  • Payment by Telephone 
  • This option allows you to make tax payments by credit card only.
  • To get started, call (800) 2PAY-TAX  (800-272-9829).
  • When prompted, enter the jurisdiction code Ohio: 6 - 4 - 4 - 6.
  • You will be asked to enter basic information, such as:
  • what type of tax you're making a payment on (either individual income tax or school district income tax);
  • what type of payment you're making (tax due, extension, estimated payment or billing or assessment);
  • your social security number and four-digit school district number if applicable;
  • the amount of your tax payment;
  • your credit card information;
  • if you're paying a billing notice, the notice ID;
  • if you're paying an assessment, the assessment serial number;
  • the tax year; and
  • the account number.

  1. Apply your refund amount to next year's tax payment.
  2. Contribute your refund amount to charity.
  3. Receive your refund by check through mail.
  4. Receive your refund by direct deposit to your bank account.
