You have the following options to pay your tax:
  1. Mail in a check.
    You need to attach Payment Voucher (Form D-40P)

    Mail check to:
    Office of Tax and Revenue
    Po Box 7182,
    Washington DC 20044-7182

  2. If you are unable to pay your tax bill in full, file your tax return anyway, pay what you can, then immediately contact the Office of Tax and Revenue so they can help you meet your tax obligations. Call them at (202) 727-4TAX to explain how you plan to pay the balance. If your plan is acceptable, they will extend the time for payment.
  3. Send e-payment or credit card payment through third-party website or by phone dial 1-800-2PAY-TAX (available 7 days a week/24 hours a day)
    • Enter code 6000 (District of Columbia's Jurisdiction Code)
    • Complete the telephone transaction directly with the electronic check processing vendor, Official Payments Corporation

  4. Receive your refund by direct deposit to your bank account.
