Q: How should I file? I don’t want too file late.
A: Ask any tax professionals which method is the best to file with at the last minute – e file or paper, and they’ll likely all tell you that e file is the fastest and most reliable method. Besides reducing errors by about 90% since its inception in 1986, e file provides quick acceptance, and will help ensure your return is accepted before the deadline passes on April 15th.
Q: What if I can’t file by April 15th?
A: You have a couple options. You can either file for a tax extension and file by the extended deadline of October 15th. The most costly way to deal with not being able to file on time is to hold off on filing, but be subject to the IRS’s penalties and interest if you owe. If you chose to file an extension, eSmart Tax makes the process easy.
