It happens to the best of tax payers—that awkward moment when you realize your spelled own name wrong on your tax return.   Common, easy mistakes happen when you’re in a hurry to file.  Don’t be afraid to check, double check, even TRIPLE check your return for data entry errors.  Believe it or not, the following fields on tax returns are commonly entered incorrectly:

First Name, Last Name, or Suffix (especially if the suffix on your name is a third-generation or higher) -  Be sure to check this for you, your spouse, and all the dependents on your return.

Address  - Make sure your house number, street, city, state, and zip are written correctly!

Social Security Number  - Do NOT leave this field blank! Check to make sure all numbers are entered correctly for you, your spouse, and all the dependents on your return.

Date of birth - Check this for you, your spouse, and all the dependents on your return.
