You have the following options:
  1. Apply your refund amount to next year's tax payment.
  2. Contribute your refund amount to charity.
  3. Receive your refund by check through mail.
  4. Receive your refund by direct deposit to your bank account.
 
State MN Amount Owe Payment Option
You have the following options to pay your tax:
  1. Pay by Direct Debit from bank account. You need to make sure your bank supports direct debit.
  2. Send e-payment through state website.
  3. Pay by credit card.
    You can also pay your taxes by credit card through Official Payments Corporation, a national company that partners with federal, state and local governments to provide credit card payment services. You will be charged a fee to use this service. To pay over the Internet, go to the Official Payments website ( www.officialpayments.com ).

  4. Payment plans.
    If you are not able to pay in full and would like to set up a payment plan, you will be able to do that at the time you receive a bill. Pay as much as you can afford with your tax return and each month after until you receive a bill. When you receive the bill you can set up a payment plan at: Pay Plan for individual taxpayers ( https://www.mndor.state.mn.us/ur/jsp/Login.jsp ).
  5. Mail in a check.
